Lava River, Idaho, USA 1988

There's a sodden women's scream.

Doc awoke, startled. He got up inside his tent to see his wife gone. He peered out of his tent, making sure no one was there. Doc was probably 40 years old, he had dark brown hair, flat in the back and jutting outward in the front, with a few grey hairs. He had greyish blue eyes and a slim bony face, his face was also covered by a light greyish brown beard, a five O'clock shadow.

"Is someone there!?" He called.

The sun was low, making the sky and clouds a bright fire red. His camp was set up in a small clearing, beyond this clearing was nothing but dense forest, the fire he had set up was nothing but black, crumbling burnt wood and a few red hot coals in the ashes, as well as a few some streams of smoke. I got out of his tent, his breath was easily shown in the crisp, cold evening air. He wore blue jeans and a grey cotton T-shirt, but just had socks on. He put on a red coat and a pair of grey rubber boats. "Cathy!?" He shouted. "Where are you!?"

He looked around, he put his grey cap on, and then put his coat's hoodie over his head. He put on his backpack, then thought of something then went into his tent and took out a large, handle, blue flashlight. He turned around and there was a weird creature staring at him in the brush, about 30 feet away, he immediately blinked and it was gone. It wasn't humanoid.

"...Must of been my imagination..."

He looked behind the tent, there was the dirt trail that he had taken from the other campsites where his colleagues were staying.
Dr. [Classified], father of my character Doc, went missing in Lava River, Idaho for unknown reasons when Doc was just a baby. This story is a very short, 2, maybe 3 part story.
